kees on tv
Its not every night that NZMS Tutors make the “Close Up” current affairs programme with Paul Henry, but Kees Buckens had his moment of glory doing just that talking about piracy off the Somalia Coast recently.

NZMS Tutors Update

Several hundred years and still counting – that is the record of years of sustained service which the current tutors at the New Zealand Maritime School have delivered to the students over the years. The current crew of 16 tutors and the Director, Tim Wilson, have a notable track record of both commercial experience within the industry, and an innovative approach to education which seess more and more distance learning, and interactive training techniques, augmented by short block courses.

Chances are many of the tutors will have taught you on your way through the school. You may not remember them all by name but click on the links below to get a reminder of who and what.

The New Zealand Maritime School staff has remained remarkably consistent over the past decade or more. Despite massive changes in the shipping and logistics industries, the individual tutors and the operation of the school has remained consistent, delivering high quality training for young people coming into these professions.

If you would like to catch up with a former tutor of yours, or talk about future training needs or even who won the rugby last night and why, click on these links to put yourself in touch again.
